MIDDLEBURY — A 75-year-old Middlebury man was killed in a car crash on Thursday.
Police have identified the victim as David H. Davignon.
At around 7:43 p.m. rescue workers were called to a two-vehicle crash on U.S. Route 7, at the intersection of Centre Plaza.
Davignon was the only occupant in his vehicle, and was unresponsive at the scene. Police say bystanders began CPR on Davignon, and he was later transported to Porter Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Both occupants of the second vehicle were transported to Porter Hospital as well.
The cause of this collision is under investigation, police say.

Police do say alcohol does not appear to be a factor in this tragic event.
